Ben is a beautiful brindle Shar pei X, super friendly but loves to play. He is veyr high energy and would do very well in an active family with kids and other pets. This handsome fellow is Buddy. Buddy has lived his whole life without his own forever home. He was an unaltered, neglected farm dog who went from house to house to play and be loved by kids.He finally ended up at a home where the people loved him but could not keep him, so they contacted WHARF to help find this guy his forever home. Buddy loves people, but is not so good with cats and likes to chase livestock. He likes other dogs and has made some doggy friends in his foster home, but he still lacks a bit with doggy etiquette and can come on to strong and provoke other dogs. He has taken to indoor living with no problems. He is house trained and kennelled trained, but loves to snuggle in bed with you if you let him. He is doing really well with leash training and he listens extremely well when offleash. He has lots of energy and enjoys chasing squirrels on the acreage where he is being fostered. Hey there my name is Chelo and I flew all the way here from Cozumel Mexico. I was in there because I was a street dog and had no home. I had a very traumatizing time on the streets of Mexico though, having no food, no where to sleep, constantly getting shoved out of every place I was trying to go and then the worst one of all having my ears and tail cut off with scissors. I still have a little bit of a tail and ears but most of them were cut off, and it hurt me really bad but it didn't change the way I feel about people, I love them. I have only been in care for a little while but I am doing great already and I love to run around the yard, when they call my name I run right into their arms. I am also perfect on the leash and house and kennel trained. I love romping around the yard with the other dogs and cats and lovestock. Logan is a sweet and loving dog who has likely not been treated very kindly. He was rescued from a pound where he was left unclaimed. When he first came into his foster home, he was very underweight. He was so scared and timid - especially around men. He tried hard to be invisible and would not eat when he thought someone would see. He is slowly learning though that life isn't so bad. He loves playing with the foster family's dog and even tolerates getting dressed up by the young children. Mishu is a 13 year old shitzu mix who came into care when her former owner was unable to devote the time/finances to her care. Her vaccinations are up to date, she is fixed and housebroken. For her age she is a spry, active little girl who still enjoys a good stroll once a day, loves to snuggle and give leg hugs when she’s really happy. She has never been crate trained but sleeps peacefully in her bed when left at home. She is a good little alarm system and will bark when someone comes to the door until she sees who it is or you give her the all clear. Mishu has a lovely white coat that requires lots of upkeep if kept long, but she seems happy with it shaved. She had a complete dental and her sparkling whites will need to be brushed to prevent tarter build up from coming back. Her foster home has 4 flights of stairs and she manages them well until the evening when she takes them 1 by 1. Mishu is good with dogs that aren’t too hyper or in her face, children, men and women. Cats aren’t her cup of tea, but I believe if necessary she may be able to live with a cat that didn’t have much interest in her. Meet Patchouli, he was rescued of the streets of Playa Del Carmen in Mexico by two volunteers of Coco's Cat Rescue. Patchouli was full of scarcoptic mange and was severely emaciated, he had open wounds all over his body from scratching at his sores. He was missing so much fur and was in so much pain for the first few days of his treatment. He was once owned by a fmaily that jsut threw him outside and would not let him back in so he was forced to scrounge up scraps of food he found on the streets and drink dirty water from puddles. After weeks of treatment he is now all better and has a beautiful full coat of fur. He is soo happy and can't wait to meet his new family. He is absolutely amazing and loves ebverything and everyone, he is so appreciative of everything that has been given to him, he smiles and wags his tail all the time. This is Poncho and he was rescued off the streets of Cancun, where he was severley malnourished, starving and really sunburnt. Poncho his been in a rescue down there for quite some time so WHARF decided for hom to come up here so he can find his forever family. His best personality trait is that he love to smile at you, when Poncho gets really excited he lays on the floor, wag my tail which turns into a whole body wag and then he smiles. It is such a great smile too! He is quite timid around new people and really like my foster mom but not my foster dad some much, he's not the kind of dog that can move into a busy house hold but do have energy and love being outside. He does not know how to walk on a leash and everytime i get a collar and leash on I flop over and refuse to move. He is also quite nervous of doorways for some reason.....Poncho gets along with most other cats and dogs.
